Brian Crawford

Chief Executive Officer

Brian started Concept Companies in October of 2004 with Concept Construction.  After successfully completing numerous residential, commercial, and industrial projects in various parts of the U.S., Brian began investing in real estate, which led to the creation of Concept Development in 2009. Since then, Brian has been responsible for developing over 150 commercial projects in Florida totaling approximately 2 million square feet. Brian is a licensed General Contractor in multiple states, Florida Roofing Contractor, and Florida Real Estate Agent.

Matthew Cason

President

  • Managed the construction and development of more than 1.8 million square feet

Matt joined Concept Companies in 2009 as a Director of Construction.  His extensive construction knowledge is an invaluable asset. He has a keen eye for recognizing key development issues in the planning phase complemented by the knowledge of how to properly resolve issues before they become real problems. He is a licensed Florida Building Contractor and Real Estate Agent. Matt oversees and has an active role in site selection and presenting properties to clients for approval, and serves to ensure that projects stay on their critical paths through the acquisition and permitting/entitlement process.

Seth Lane

Executive Vice President of Real Estate and Development

Seth joined Concept Companies in 2016 as Director of Development and is responsible for Concept Companies’ real estate development projects. With a Masters in Building Construction and a Bachelors in Architecture from the University of Florida, Seth has experience on all sides of the real estate development process. As a developer, consultant, and broker, Seth brings over 12 years of commercial real estate experience to the team.  Seth has served as the Vice-Chairman for both the City of Gainesville Development Review Board  (which oversees site plan approval) and the City of Gainesville Plan Board, charged with review and approval of land use and zoning issues. He is also an active member of Leadership Florida, having participated in Class V of the Connect Institute.

Jeremy Scheer

Chief Investment Officer

Prior to joining Concept Companies in June 2016 as its Chief Financial Officer, Jeremy served as Vice President of Operations for a national association of certified public accounting and consulting firms.  His professional background includes public accounting experience in tax compliance, planning, and consulting; private industry experience in real estate consulting and sales; and non-profit board service.  Jeremy holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Master in Accounting from the University of Florida.  He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and a Certified Global Management Accountant.

James Blythe

Principal of Architecture + Interiors

• Licensed Architect in Florida and Georgia
• LEED AP® BD+C (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional in Neighborhood Development)
• NCARB certification for gaining licensure in additional states beyond FL and GA

James completed his Bachelor of Design and Masters in Architecture at the University of Florida and joined the Concept team in 2017. His 15 years of experience in the field of architecture have allowed him to work on commercial projects totaling over $200 million, with additional LEED Project Management exceeding $100 million across the southeast. James contributes an understanding of broad system inter-relationships that allow for effective, solution-driven design on various scales and typologies of projects.
