Theory Construction, a division of Concept Companies, is looking for an organized, effective, team leader to be our Director of Operations.
YOUR ROLE ON THE TEAM
+ Participating member of Concept Companies “Extended Leadership Team.”
+ Executive level team member helps guide the construction company and interacts regularly with the Director of Preconstruction and Director of Construction.
+ Establish, administer and maintain Best Practices while staying current in the commercial construction industry.
WHAT YOU GET TO DO
+ Responsible for all aspects of assigned projects, including profit/loss, schedule, quality, safety, means and methods.
+ Maintain effective communication and positive relationships with owners, vendors, clients, subcontractors and employees
+ Together with HR and the Director of Construction, recruit and properly staff the operational side of the business.
+ Together with the Safety Director, ensure that the company safety program is current and being adhered to consistently across the entire company.
+ Assist the Preconstruction Department in document review, creating scopes of work, creating preliminary project schedules, and bid day strategies.
+ Serve as the primary point of contact (when needed) in Design-Build and Construction Management projects.
+ Create a positive atmosphere and team approach between Pre-Construction and Operations as well as the field and the office.
+ Create, schedule and administer specific and applicable training for Project Management and Field Supervision.
+ Ensure that monthly reporting from the project managers and superintendents are accurate and timely. These include: updated project schedule, pay applications, project cost reports, daily reports and project updates.
+ Provide support for the superintendents in all facets of construction.
+ Schedule all field labor to ensure productive and consistent use of their time and skills.
+ Participate in monthly Owner, Architect, Contractor (OAC) meetings.
+ Ensure that all staff in your group receive meaningful and timely performance reviews. Create measurable career plans specific to each staff member.
+ Provide monthly reports to the Director of Construction for all projects. Reports include Cost Reports, Staffing Plan, Project Schedules, and Overhead updates.
YOU MAY BE A GOOD FIT
+ High School Diploma and/or College Degree. Course study in Building Construction, Architecture, or Engineering is preferred.
+ Minimum of 10-15 years commercial building experience as a Superintendent, Project Manager or in another applicable role.
+ Must have a minimum of 5 years supervisory, senior level management experience overseeing a group or team.
+ Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to establish strong relationships with all levels of the organization, as well as clients, outside partners, and resources.
+ Self-starter who can work independently and collaboratively with team members.
+ Capable of managing multiple projects and priorities in efficient, accurate manner.
+ Must be able to resolve conflict, be level headed at all times and possess strong leadership and management skills.
